Great laptop, great customer service.
As the new GTX 10 series was released, I've started looking for a new laptop which contained it. I've compared many products, both on physical and virtual shops. My research made me land here, and at least on paper, it had the best performance price ratio. I live and work in Germany, and the pound drop due to brexit was to my advantage.
At the time of booking, I could select the fast shipping option (maybe not always possible), my laptop arrived here in Germany on time, in less than 2 days.

It's wonderful. It starts up in a matter of seconds. The keyboard feels great, relaxing. The touchpad is smooth and precise. It's quiet.
I've tested a game, Assassin's creed syndicate. For the first time in my life I could maximize all settings to ultra without having to be afraid. The game was fluid with no frame drops. I haven't tested it yet for long time gaming though.

The customer service was great, they replied fast and kindly to all my questions and immediately solved a small issue with one of my speakers.

In summary, I really struggle to find something to complain about. It has the perfect balance between high quality gaming, performance, portability and price. (Posted on 1/22/2017)

I have been looking for a laptop for a long time, then I finally settled on this laptop. It is a great laptop with amazing specs for the price. It is really fast and I really enjoy it. Pretty much everything is good about it except that there is a shortage in usb ports, and it can get hot so you should buy a laptop fan, but other than that it a really great value. And the backlit keyboard and the 17 inch screen is really nice, and it is a high end laptop for the price of a mid range laptop. For the price, you should buy it! (Posted on 1/21/2017)

Great Laptop with Great Price and Great Costumer service

Looks:
The aesthetic of course is aiming towards gamers, so a lot of red lights and black accents are here. Luckily you can turn the keyboard lights off, but the front light does not turn off. So if you are looking for a gaming laptop that you can use professionally, you may want to look towards other laptops if you care about how it looks.

Build:
The build is a mixture of metal and plastic, but overall feels very sturdy. The bottom of the keyboard area has very little give, so typing feels nice and doesn't feel cheap. I don't feel like I need to be overly gentle with it when I am traveling to class. With it being relatively thin for a gaming laptop, it's nice to have it be fairly sturdy.

Keyboard:
The keyboard has a red backlight and can have the brightness adjusted. I'm not an expert on keyboards, but it feels pretty nice, they have a nice travel distance, and feels alright to type on. They sort of shoved a number pad onto the right, which makes the overall setup a little squished. Also when removing bloatware, do not remove the ATK Package as you will lose control of the keyboard.

Trackpad:
I have been seeing a lot of people trashing on the trackpad, maybe it's because I'm not an expert, but it honestly feels alright.

Ports:
The only gripe I have is that the laptop only comes with 3 USB ports despite them getting rid of the disk drive. With my Cloud Pro and mouse I only have one USB left, I would have liked if they added just a few more, even if they were 2.0. But it does come with USB C with Thunderbolt, and HDMI and Mini-Displayport, and an SD card reader which is nice.

Display:
Honestly this is the main selling point for this laptop, as no other laptop in this price range has a G-Sync monitor. Mixed with the IPS tech, gaming on it is incredibly great. Accurate colors, no input lag, it's all you could wish for. It does have one drawback though which i will address in another part.

Performance:
With the GTX 1060, you can pretty much play any game you want on ultra settings. The performance of this machine is on the level of desktops and its fantastic. The extra RAM also helps with multi-tasking and what-not. I did not get the one with the SSD as it will be cheaper to add one later, but it's nice to find a laptop with a 7200rpm HDD, which is still just fine.

Temps:
Honestly it varies, some games both the CPU and GPU stay within the mid and high 70s, in others like Battlefield 1 the CPU seems to constantly hover around the high 90s and even reaching 100 *C and the GPU in the mid 80s. They could be better, but for being fairly small and lightweight, it was what I was expecting. I played BF1 for a few hours with the CPU around 98 *C and the performance didn't tank nor did the laptop shut off. Also despite the area above the keyboard being very hot, the general keyboard area stays very cool.

Battery:
I gotta say, I wasn't expecting much in terms of battery life in a gaming laptop, but even this was kinda disappointing. I can only ever get around 2 hours of battery life. Yes I know there is a GTX 1060, so of course there is a lot of power needed. It also doesn't help that with the G-Sync panel, the laptop can't switch to the Intel graphics to save battery. So if you have a long lab for college, make sure to bring your cable.

Even with the battery and temp shortcomings, I still really like this laptop, its fast, its light, and is packed with features. (Posted on 1/20/2017)

This machine is a beast. It handles anything you throw at it laughing. I am a web developer/student/indie game developer, so I like having a big display to look the code at. Productivity work is a joke to it. Gaming performance is awesome. You can run any AAA titles at epic settings with no compromise on frame rates. First game I ran was the game that came with the product itself i.e., Forza Horizon 3. Let me tell you that the game sucks but its visuals are mesmerizing. I got a constant 40 plus fps with everything set to max with multi sampling X8 and with FXAA , I was averaging about 65 fps which is amazing. The second game I tried was Rise of the tomb raider. The game is pretty good, and visuals are so crisp, very realistic and beautiful. It requires a lot of horse power and video memory to run this game (at least 4 gigs of vram) at epic and this beast handled it so smoothly that I thought my eyes were fooling me. I was averaging around 60s with very high settings (medium hair works and no msaa). The fps dropped to constant 38 after turning on the multi sampling X8 and hair works set to very high. With G-sync enabled, the games look super buttery and gives you non-fatigue game play. And if you are a video editor, you are in good luck. This laptop renders videos and images at God speed. Battery life is not that great but I wouldn't complain since it is a gaming laptop with G-sync. I was averaging 4 hours of productivity work like watching 4k movies, listening to music, editing some documents and installing software(all of this with wifi on the whole time). The only bad thing about this laptop is that it gets hot. But there is no throttling on the gpu or the cpu at all. I would not worry about the heat that much because I am not a 24/7 gamer. Also, every gaming laptop gets hot, there is no get around with that coz the components are so clumsily fit inside the thin form-factor gives them very tiny space to dissipate heat through. They are very well built so one doesn't need to worry about the long term usage. I would recommend a cooling pad to reduce the heat if that's too much of your concern.

I know I have been inclining towards the positives of this laptop too much. It is just because I love it so much. And I would buy it again if I had to.
pros: EPIC GAMING PERFORMANCE.
1. The display is G-sync enabled with 75 hz refresh rate which is awesome.
2. Solid build quality but certainly not the best
3. Very loud speakers.
4. Epic specs.
5. Nice keyboard and track pad but the track pad gives you some troubles with the right click intermittently. It is a driver issue and Asus is currently working on it. I would say it isn't a big deal because that issue seldom shows up.
6. Excellent ports and connectivity. Thunderbolt 3 is a very good bonus.
7. It is very thin and sleek for a beast that is hidden inside of it. And not that heavy too.
7. Cuk is awesome :). The best price I have ever seen. I got this product with 512 gigs ssd for just 1347/-. I have had my first laptop replaced because of the faulty track pad. Cuk replaced it with no questions asked. So kudos!!

Cons:
1. Heat production. But it isn't something that will destroy your laptop or cause throttling issues. So no big deal.
2. Driver issues with the track pad, silly issue though.
3. No rgb back lighting. We just have to settle for red :(.
4. Battery life is just average.
5. Web cam quality is just average like every other windows web cams. And I do miss windows hello :(.
6. Comes with a lot of bloatware like every other gaming laptops. I had to uninstall so much of crap.

Overall, I just love this beauty. Would strongly recommend one who is looking for a mid range gaming laptop. I would actually place it in high-range laptop in terms of performance. If large displays are your thing, this is a very good product for you. (Posted on 1/2/2017)
